Ukraine is the fourth Contracting State to join the 2007 Hague Child Support Convention, which came into force on 1 January 2013.
In relations between Contracting States, the 2007 Hague Child Support Convention replaces the United Nations Convention on the Recovery Abroad of Maintenance of 20 June 1956 to which Ukraine is also a Contracting State.

On 13 September 2012, Albania deposited its instrument of ratification of the Hague Convention of 23 November 2007 on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance. The instrument was accompanied by reservations and a declaration.
Since the deposit of the instrument of ratification by Albania is the second deposit, the Convention will, in accordance with its Article 60, first paragraph, enter into force on 1 January 2013.

On 29 September 2010, the United States Senate approved the Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and other Forms of Family Maintenance. This treaty will make it easier for Americans to recover child support payments from a non-custodial parent living abroad and promotes the establishment, recognition, and enforcement of child support obligations in cases where the custodial parent and child are in one country and the non-custodial parent is in another.
